Buenos Aires:
This is a big city with a lot going on — there is a lot to see and do! Here are my top recommendations:
🚙 Getting around:
- Ubers are easily accessible and affordable so this is the best choice for getting around besides for walking
🏠 Stay:
- Stay in Palermo Chico or Palermo Hollywood neighborhood
- There are many restaurants and things going on
🥩 Eat:
- LaCarniceria is hands down the best meal we had in BA - the meat was out of the world and everything was perfect. Make a reservation. You will not regret this meal.
- Helados Italia might be the best ice cream outside of Italy. In a city that is obsessed with ice cream (there are ice cream shops on every other block) this one is a stand out.
- Mishiguene is a really cool Jewish food restaurant in Palermo - the cafe is a few blocks away and also worth checking out if you can’t make it to the restaurant.
- Fogon is a 9 course asado where they cook everything in front of you. Make a reservation. It’s worth it.
💃🏼 Do:
- The tango show at Viejo Almacen was incredible — even if you don’t usually like dance performances, this one was amazing. Skip the dinner part and go just to the show.
- MALBA has a really cool collection of modern art from South America, including some Frida Kahlos.
💅🏻 Beauty:
- Get a facial or eye brows done at Lumiere - they are wizards and the price is incredible.
- Massage + sauna at Krista Boutique Hotel
😀 Other tips:
- The water is fine to drink
- It’s best to not wear jewelry or take your phone while walking around outside
- Many doors lock from the inside so you need a key to open the door to leave a building — it’s quirky and takes a minute to remember
Bariloche:
Bariloche is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever traveled to. The mountains x lake are breathtaking and everywhere you look, you are surrounded by beautiful views. It’s a 2 hour flight from BA and absolutely worth it.
🚙 Getting around:
- You need a car given that Ubers are scarce. Rent one at the airport.
🏠 Stay:
- I cannot recommend Lirolay Suites enough — the views from the rooms were unbelievable and every day there felt like magic
🍔 Eat:
- Carnero came highly recommended to us and the reviews tell a tale of a 10/10 restaurant. It was just that. The befe de ojo was one of the best we had in Argentina.

- Rapanui for ice cream after dinner, which is a favorite past time of Argentinians. This location has an ice skating rink in the back.
🥾 Do:
- Hikes are unbelievably beautiful and vary in difficulty
- If you want a guide, Roberto was wonderful and speaks excellent English

- Sailing on the lake is another wonderful activity
- You can book this through AirBNB experiences
- Drive around and check out the Llao Llao Hotel hotel
- The hotel should be great for lunch / tea time and the surrounding area has many incredible views
